Wow! Zhang Zhehan’s Multiverse Explosion: Award-Winning in Singing and Documentaries – A Quadruple Blessing!

Zhang Zhehan, the singer-songwriter who recently won double honors as the “Most Popular New Artist” at the 2024 Hito Music Awards and one of the “Top 100 Artists of the Year” on the KKBOX Music Charts, continues to shine. Following the release of his new English single 90s last month, Zhang held his Primordial Theater 2.0 concert in Korea yesterday (16th), where he premiered his latest single Next to widespread acclaim. With Next, Zhang seeks to explore a universal truth in life: that people often have to wear masks to navigate reality. He reflects, “When we finally wish to face life authentically, we realize that we’ve grown so accustomed to wearing masks that we’ve forgotten who we truly are.” The song carries a profound meaning reminiscent of the themes in the recent Netflix hit drama Queenmaker, resonating deeply with audiences. Zhang also shared, “In love, acting only makes people lonelier. Before we can truly connect with others, perhaps we need to be honest with ourselves first.”  Through Next, Zhang Zhehan hopes to strike a chord with listeners, encouraging them to rediscover their authentic selves.

For the visual concept of Zhang Zhehan’s single *Next*, he debuted a striking crimson long-haired look, marking a bold transformation. Watching as the stylist carefully trimmed the ends of his hair, Zhang reflected, “It felt like saying goodbye to the past in another form.” The single’s cover art features a delicate, creamy white gradient of clouds juxtaposed with the deep gray and black of his attire, symbolizing “a boundary between reality and nothingness, consciousness and the subconscious.” This visual design subtly conveys the song’s cold decisiveness and resolute attitude.  Zhang explained, “When you see through false performances and insincere attempts to hold you back, it’s better to part ways gracefully. *Next* is about making that confident farewell: no need to linger.”

Graduating from the Shanghai Theatre Academy with a major in acting, Zhang Zhehan is a versatile and charismatic artist, excelling as a singer-songwriter, actor, director, and all-around creative talent. He recently took on the role of director for the documentary “August” ([watch here](https://youtu.be/gLwMG6XoJ34?si=CIFRw0asDUAJcTu5)), which earned two prestigious awards: the “Global Award” at the ARFF International Film Festival – Amsterdam Edition and the Best Script Award at the Red Movie Awards Summer 2024 Edition, gaining international recognition.  In “August”, Zhang authentically captures his journey biking across Tibet, narrating his experiences with heartfelt commentary that resonates deeply with viewers. The documentary has garnered over 7 million views on YouTube, touching audiences worldwide with its raw and inspiring portrayal of self-discovery and perseverance.

Over the past two years, Zhang Zhehan has traveled extensively across Asia, delighting fans at personal concerts in Bangkok, Singapore, and Kuala Lumpur. This year, during the Lunar New Year, he brought his “Primordial Theater” concert to Hong Kong, celebrating the holiday with 15,000 fans in a spectacular event. With a packed and fulfilling schedule, Zhang continues to embrace his love for travel, using it as a way to reflect, recharge, and connect with life. Recently, he’s been sharing his travel vlogs on social media, taking fans on virtual journeys to stunning destinations. Meanwhile, he remains deeply dedicated to his craft. Leading up to his Seoul concert yesterday, Zhang was tirelessly rehearsing vocals and choreography. Clips from his practice sessions reveal new routines for songs like  “90s” and other tracks, promising fans an elevated stage performance. Unlike the original setlist and arrangements of “Primordial Theater”, the Seoul concert featured entirely new outfits and an updated lineup, offering fans a fresh and immersive experience. Zhang also debuted his latest single, “Next”, delivering a breathtaking performance that blended stunning visuals with captivating music—truly a feast for the senses.
