Regarding why the Chinese title of “Going Off” was chosen as “了,” Zhang Zhehan has his own understanding and thoughts. He explained, “‘了’ can be pronounced as ‘liǎo,’ which means an end or conclusion, symbolizing the ending of a story or relationship. It reflects our proactive decision to let go of the past and bravely move forward into a new life. When pronounced as ‘le,’ it often serves as a modal particle, similar to a casual acknowledgment, indicating a passive acceptance or acknowledgment of something or a result, thus implying the inevitability of saying goodbye to the past.”
